MAK90 > AK Discussions

My local shop has two MAK-90 for sale in pretty good condition for $399 each and they come with 6 30rd mags and a case is this a good deal, BTW what is the deal with the MAK 90's are they pre-89 and therefore you can convert the thumbhole stock to a folder?

1. Make sure the MAK-90s are not the angle cut receivers (look at the rear of the receiver).

2. Mags I would price out about $10 each.....so you're looking at $60 in magazines.

3. $399 for a good MAK-90........well.....okay....maybe. Push him/her to make it $399 out the door...CASH....no tax.....

If not, go to your local gunshow and I will guarantee you someone will let you have a MAK-90 for $325-$350 CASH.

What is wrong with the Angle Cut recievers, and are all MAK 90's pre 94 ban and therefore if you put U.S parts in it you can put a foldable stock on it. If it isnt Pre 94 can you still put a pistol grip on it with enough american parts

MAK-90s are post ban.

If you want to put a regular stock on it, ya gotta put enough US parts in it to make it 922r compliant.

You cannot put a sidefolder on it until September 04 (when the AWB sunsets).

No matter what, you have to keep the US parts count up.

Angle cut are harder to canvert to pistol grip or folder for that matter..Yes with enough parts you can make it legal pistol grip config..But you cant have a folder that fold's till Sept...And if it say's MAC on it it is a post ban..

I don't know about that Troy.. You been to any funshows lately, these guys are turning into crooks... at least they are at the shows i go to...

Ya gotta come to Dayton. You will definitely run into private individuals unloading their MAKs for under $400.......

Chinese AKs.......you just can't beat them.

by angle cut receiver do you mean like the WUM1 rifles? can you tell on a MAK without removing the stock ?

No,its different than the radial cut on some WUM1s.There's a link here somewhere to theChineese page with reference to the different MAK receiver types.

Ya gotta take the thumbhole stock off to see it....or pop the top cover and look toward the rear of the receiver from the inside.....

What was the purpose of the angle cuts on the receivers like that?
