The clips, not the females...  i've been buying some extra stripper clips for my SKS and have noticed a lot of places (especially EBay) lists them as AK and SKS strippers.  Is it possible to load AK mags from these?  My cousin has a Saiga AK and we could see an easy way to load it  straight from a stripper.  Are they similar to loading an AR from a stripper and need something similar to a "spoon"?

Yes you can use them on AK mags.  You just need an AK mag loader device:

Any idea where I might find such a device?

Atleast one of them should have it.
Or you can also buy a AK-47 mag set (4 mags, pouch, cleaning kit, stripper clip guide, sling) from a place that sells them.

I personally find it less of a hassle to NOT use a stripper clip guide and hold the mag and clip together with one hand whole I shove all the rounds down with the other.

But for AK mags, the LULA is better IMO since it greatly helps loading mags without pre-loading strippers. Not that getting strippers loaded has no merit.

Buy the LULA,  it is worth the extra 15.00  IMHO.   plus you can also unload with it.

I've got both the LULA and the Comblock stripperclips, LULA goes in the rangebag. Comblock loaders stays home as a relic from ancient times......

Well, it's for my cousin, not me.  But we usually spend a little while loading strippers before we go shooting anyway, because I need them to load my SKS.  So if he got one of those loaders, we could just spend a little more time loading strippers and it'll save him time once we're out shooting.  I'll mention the LULA to him too next time I talk to him.  Thanks guys!

the chicom thing works ok but ya gotta do it j-u-u-u-st right! make sure the loader is snug over the top of the mag. make sure the back end is firmly pressed against the back of the mag and straight up (usually by the web of the hand). make sure your index or middle finger is supporting the bottom edge of the front of the loader. make sure the stripper clip is firmy seated in the loader and push straight down firmly and quickly, ALL THE WAY! DO NOT STOP HALFWAY! DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT $200! it's not really that dire but it can be a pita...

man, someone would make a mint if they marketed a u.s. mil-style loading system for the 7.62x39 ak! you notice the east germans adopted it for the 5,45!!!
