It has been long overdue for me to own an AK again. It was a tough decision among ORF and the two Arsenals. In the end, the milled receiver got my vote.

The last time I had an AK to call my own was back in 96. It's kinda funny that I'll be using the ammo I have for the last AK to break this one in.  I never gave those ammo away since I knew I would have another one in the future. A big thank-you to those who answered my questions and helped me made the final decision. Now if I can just talk one of you into giving up your SEAK.

Not sure about Tapco's SAW grip, yet. Guess I'll find out this weekend at the range.

No, not a Vols fan.  I am a native Ohioan (well, at least ever since I came to the States.)  And yes, it's good to be back to the darker side. I can hardly wait until this weekend to put this SA M-7 through its paces. Thank you all for your kind words.

A orange neck is half way between a red neck, and a yuppie...

Not even close (and I hope I am not going offend anyone with the explanation below)
An orange neck is an oriental guy who's into stereo typical red neck stuff (guns, hunting, fishing, and outdoor stuff).  You see, when you mix red with yellow skin you get orange.

My father-in-law, who lives in WV, just about fell off the chair from laughing so hard when he first heard me calling myself an orange neck.

Took it to the range today and put about 85 rounds through it.  Smooth is all I can say about it. My last AK, a Maadi, slapped my trigger finger with every shot.  The correct FCG, milled receiver and the SAW grip all made it feel well balanced and smooth (do I dare to say it again- smooth.)

It shot a bit to the right but it was so hot and muggy that I didn't feel like doing too much adjusting. I look forward to the next range outing to get it all tune in.

i'll have to use that line on 'engineer' and a couple other friends...the next time i see them hooping it up with us white bread crackers! especially one asian friend of mine that drinks way too much knob creek bourbon!

the sa-m7 series are great rifles for the novice or the experienced ak fan.

it's hot and muggy here, also. almost 90° today and thank goodness the breeze is blowing or i would be sweating like a stuck hog!
