I just picked this baby up tonight.  Was 550 a fair price for a rifle that appears un-fired?  I haven't shot it yet, but I am looking forward to it.  Perhaps tomorrow...

Give some more details on it.

Who built it?? If it was a commercial build is should be marked on the underside in front of the magwell.
It should be marked on the side:
Model SLR100
Cal. 7.62x39
Arsenal Bulgaria
Intrac, Knox TN

I beleive that some of these were sold as receiver only, and were built up on
hungarian, or possibly Chinese kits.
If they were homebuilts or otherwise i dont know.
Was yours a thumbhole?? If so you will want to have a lower tang installed on it so you can refit it with the proper wood stock.

I have a SLR100H that i am reworking.
They are nice guns typically. Smooth actions and good metal fit and finish, although mine was one of the ugliest AK's that i have ever seen.
Good luck with it and post a few pics if you can.

As long as the bore is in on good shape you got a good deal. The originally sold new for $425~475, back in 1999. Currently I have seen them going for somewhere in the $625 range. I bit more builder info would be of help though.

..I personally own a couple of them them, and consider them among my favorites!

Jeep,

Don't forget about the knuckle-head crack addicts that are selling a pair of them for
$1350 each...Or $2600 for the pair What a deal!

I wonder if they have any takers yet??

It was built by Gordon Technologies, Crown Point, IN  Do any of you guys have any experience with them?  It is not a thumb hole.  It has wood pistol grip and stock.  It has been built with USA parts and has a pretty decent target trigger of which I cannot remember the brand.

if jerry gordon built it, you got the best of the 3 outfits that pieced the kits together.

$550 is about the going rate for a g-tech in used/excellent condition.

congrats, nuke, you got yourself a keeper!

Thanks for the info guys.  I think it's a keeper too.  I am pretty new to the whole world of AKs, but I am learning.
