Alright, guys. Funds are going to be available soon to finally upgrade my MAK90 to get rid of the awful ATI butthole stock and put on a proper pistol grip and stock. What's the best US made H-T-S group, preferably non-adjustable? I hear people rave about the Red Star H-T-S but I'm really wanting non-adjustable for a rifle that might just be used for defensive purposes some day. Is the Tapco group any good? I'm a little leery about it since I've read it's MIM and I really want machined, not glorified cast parts. Any suggestions? I'd really like to get the RSA group. Any hope they'll offer a non-adjustable option any time soon? The stock set is a no-brainer, it'll be Kvar and I'm going to replace the gas piston with the stainless one from Tapco. If I have my parts count right, that should be 7 US parts, well above the 5 required since the rifle doesn't have a muzzle device (can't wait till 09-14-04, if the AWB goes away it'll be sporting a Vortex. Yeah, Baby!). That way, I won't have to worry about US followers and floorplates. I have enough magazines that, even if I wanted to go that route, I'll have enough invested in them that I could buy a different US part. Thanks for the help. I'm pretty familiar with the AK, I've just never done any upgrades and have no idea what all is out there. Bub |
