You took all the internals out of a preban Ak along with the stock and pistol grip(leaveing the trunions and barel asimbly), is it tecnicaly still a pre ban or does it go by the same rules that pre ban Ars go by?

IIRC, the definition of a semiautomatic assault rifle is one that has the ability to accept detachable magazines and two of the following:

(i) a folding or telescopic stock
(ii) a pistol grip
(ii) a bayonet mount
(iv) a flash suppressor or thread barrel designed to accomdate a flash suppressor and
(v) a grenade launcher.


If you took off all the furniture, but still had a barrel with a bayonet lug and a flash supressor, then it would seem that you still meet the criteria of being an "assault weapon"
