I have a Mak-90 that I' trying to determine whether it is pre-ban or not. I've looked at several sites and cannot find my answer. The rifle includes the following on it:

Mak-90 Sporter ( sporter written in white)
Cal 7.62 x 39

C&A VA 8CH VA
MADE IN CHINA

Brand is Norinco
All matching numbers 20726

The gun is brand new and can anyone tell me what it might be worth.

Thanks

All Mak-90's are postban.

It is probably worth $375-$400 if it has a stamped receiver, a milled receiver is worth around $425-$450 new.

I have another stupid question.....how do you tell if its milled or stamped?

Also a friend told me there was a difference between Mac-90 and a Mak-90. Thats why I thought maybe it might be pre ban.

Thanks for the reply

All postban.  No such thing as "Mac-90" to my knowledge anyhow.

Milled: Heavier, thicker steel in receiver, cutout in right front of receiver, no rivets--trunnions are cut into rec during milling. You will also see some milling marks in the rec if you look close.

If you look at both you will see that it is very easy to tell the difference.  Milled vs stamped makes no difference in pre vs. post-ban status.
