I actually got this a few days ago, but haven't had the time to share it!
I will be at the ShotShow and more than happy to meet up with anyone here who is going. I think this is a pretty kick ass addition to the show and a chance for us to make a new friend. [=D] |
|
juan, i will glady haul you down in the ar15com yugo...if only you can fanagle me a ticket. i have heard the mikhail has wanted to meet me for years, now. (heheheh! i would love to shake his hand while he is still with us). a local paper recently published a pic of mtk shooting a new ak-74 at izhmash. i believe the paper stated he was 83 years old...and his form behind the rifle still looked rock solid! |
"NOTE: Only members of the trade may attend the Show, and must provide a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) number, State Tax Number, or Industry Related Business Card. No one under 16, including infants will be permitted on the Show floor." |
|
I think there's a limit to the number of people that can go per FFL. If you go to work a booth, there's a little more liberty. I got an email from the General, I'd like to share it with you all...
As you can see, our fearless Campy has been sending one too many love messages to the General and is in some serious trouble. I highly suggest getting past this puppy love and simply enjoying the man and his work like a good heterosexual. [=P] On a serious note, this should be a good time made better. |

Ken must adopt us, it's just that simple. Imagine 50 *ahem* employees at the Red Star Booth wearing Red Star Ball Caps and Shirts. What an impresion Red Star could make! Hell, we might even impress MTK himself into declaring Red Star the 'offical' Kalishnkov trigger pack. I could be the photographer when Ken gives the commemerative trigger assembly to ole MTK hisself! I could be the 'Offical Red Star Photographer' for the day! |
|
Note only for educational purposes and I don't know if it works "Only members of the trade may attend the Show, and must provide a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) number, Tax ID number, or identify the products or services you sell. No one under 16, including infants will be permitted on the Show floor. There will be NO exceptions." Were I a deceitful type, I'd register with a business name that did not require an FFL and I'd print up some phoney business cards w/ "Aimless Tactical Supplies" on it. I, however, would never do this as it is evil and sneaky. By the way if you do use a fake name, be careful it's not common one because apparently the registration system will try and reregister you as that person. Or anyway a guy told me that. |

Autographed LEGPs would be so cool!!!! Considering his lawsuits to get royalties from those who sell copies of his gun, I am surprised he does not lock himself in a room for 2 weeks of electropencil signing completed guns for a fee. A close up of him signing your receiver (number visible) to be framed next to your gun. Yum! |
|
Campy I still need to work on my hotel reservations, but I plan on going down for a full week and enjoying Orlando. There's usually a nice contingent of AR15.Com members who make it to the show, so plan on dinner with the crew and possibly some rowdy parties! [=D] Edited to add - We can try to drag the General out for a good time! |
|
So, let me see if I got this right. Identify the products or SERVICES you sell. Let's see, I'm a NRA certified instructor, and that is a service, so if I was an evil person I could print up some business cards on this special business card paper i just happen to have right here and use that to register with. hmmmmmmmmm very interesting! LOL !!! Me thinks i'll see you at the shot show! 556mm |

Will a C&R license work? www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=161199 |
I can more readily shake the hand of a Ruskie who designed a gun that "killed so many of our boys", than an American who altered the design of a gun that got so many of our boys killed. |
You do what you want. I would rather piss on a communist, than shake his hand! |
Again, I would just soon "piss" on a "friend" who stabs me in the back than an enemy that is trying to shoot me in the front. I'll rather like my enemies foreign thank you. They are the worse lot. Give me an honest (albeit brainwashed) communist any day over a traitorous lying scoundrel back stabbing son of a bitch. Judas, after all, is in Hell. Pontius Pilate, well, we don't quite know 'bout him. The home grown enemies, McFarlane, Clinton, FDR, and a slew of others, have done megatons more harm to America than all the pinkos in all of history combined. Regards. |

politics...bah! hey ed, when mikhail timofeyovich was designing what would become the ak-47, he was recovering from a wound...shrapnel put in him by a fascist nazi. iirc, he was fighting ON THE SAME SIDE as we were. and, as far as becoming a lifelong communist, he now has a stock holding company and employs lawyers to go fetch his manufacturing fees for him. sounds like a born-again capitalist running dog lacky to me. and if it would not have been kalashnikov, it would have been siminov..or sudayev...or degtyarev...or korovin...or tokarev...or prilutskiy...or lolesnikov...or semyenovich...or rukavishnikpv...or norov...or shpagin...or blyum...or elizarov...or semin...or konstantinov. agreed belloc. i would rather shake mikhail's hand and kick bobby mcnamarra is the nutz. kennedy...johnson...nixon...i could probably think of a few more, too. let me re-read "the best and the brightest"...it's been a few years. if you are gonna hold a grudge, i suggest you start pissing on the germans, schmeisser, mauser, krupp, haenel, rheinmetal, walther (carl AND lother)...the austrians, solothurn et al. let's not ferget those damned mezcans and their contract mausers. and those damned spanish bastards at san juan hill. armed with everything spain could produce plus those mausers. and while we're at it, shouldn't we still be hating the brits? after all, birmigham small arms built everything from smoothbores to the brown bess. to this day, i guess i should piss on bsa motorcycles. and let us dare not forget the czecks! those bastards shipped vz-58's by the pallet off to vietnam. i don't blame a man for giving his country a tool...and that's all a gun is. i blame the government for using it in any given fashion. of course, stoner can thank federov for the entire concept. but wait!!! federov and his avtomat of 1916 PRE-DATES the revolution!!! |
|
Belloc and CAMPY: You are probably right, but you cannot reason with deep entrenched emotions. I feel the same way about all the Kennedys,McNamarra and all the rich golden boys of the Kennedy administration. They are not excempt. Lets just say that I have no love for the man or the wonderful weapon he designed, just like I have no love for the Nazis. The AK is something I DO NOT CARE FOR....for my own personal reasons.I hope you can understand that. It does not mean I dislike anyone who loves them. |
You wouldn't be the first to do that! I for one still hate the French!
I understand what you are saying Ed, my father still dosen't want to ride in Japanese cars. I wasn't there on December 7th, and so I give him his reasons.... |
|
i understand your reasons ed. i am an engineer. i appreciate designers and well designed products...regardless of origin. be it an stg, an ak...a ferarri or a porsche...john moses browning or hugo schmeisser. the kalashnikov is a work of art. its' designer, a genius. yes, the kalashnikov certainly has killed many, including americans. when mikhail laid his drafting pencil to paper, the only thing he wanted to create was the most reliable, efficient and inexpensive tool that was then possible. to that end, he succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. stalin...beria...lenin...molotov...brezhnev...kruschev...those are the bad guys. mikhail timofeyovitch was just a sargent in a tank that some german blasted to bits...altering history more than he could have imagined. today, kalashnikov's are in the hands of nato member nations' troops, used by spec ops and seals (the real ones...not the fake ones! lol!). i just finished a marvelous bulgarian ak-74 for a soldier that was seriouly wounded in afghanistan. despite this young man's having been shot at by many kalashnikov's, and nearly having his leg blown off by a russian artillary shell, he appreciates the attributes of the world's finest assault carbine...the legendary kalashnikov! rotdorn...bite your tongue! when they are running (rare, but savored moments!), a bsa, triumph or norton is nothing short of a license to thrill! |
Well put Campy. |
|
I also am of the same opinion Campy... A rifle is a tool, much like a car or computer. I wouldn't hate Ferrari for losing a friend in a car accident anymore than I can blame an AK or AR for the kills during war. I DO understand the old man's side of it as well though. If I had someone shooting at me day and night and having to hear the rifle's distinct sound, I too may have draw a dislike of sorts for it. |
