| What, in your expert opinions, is the best postban AK currently available to the public? i have currently only owned AR's, but am very interested in getting am AK. Also, what are the pros and cons of the 5.45x39mm vs 7.63x39mm. |

Best thumbhole AK's would be the Hungarian SA-85M for a stamped version($3-450), or the Bulgarian SA-93($350-450) for a milled version. Best pistola gripped post-bans would be Global Trades SSR-85 series(Hungarian receivers used), nice parkerized finish($4-500). And of course the inexpensive SAR series($250-350). As long as the parts are straight, you cant go wrong with them. Also the Arsenal AK's SAM-7 Classic is a work of art, but you may not want to shoot it as a result. And its expensive(around $600). I can think of no cons for either calibre you mention. Both are quite fun and readily available for around $100 a case. Get one of each, it's the only way to be sure... |
