| If you wanted to zero an AK for 100 meters but only had a 25 meter range what would the formula be? I.E. 1 inch high shot groups. |

You could use a ballistic calculator program or one of the online programs. Here is an online program: http://internet.cybermesa.com/~jbm/ballistics/traj_basic/traj_basic.html I use the following setup data: bullet weight: 123 gr velocity: 2300 fps Ballistic Coeff: 0.256 Height over bore: 3.5 inches (Kobra sight) Height over bore: 1.5 inches (iron sights) From my calculations I get the following 25 yd impacts for a 100 yd zero: -1.9 inch (Kobra) -0.4 inch (iron sight) But you know, a 0.1 to 0.25 inch difference at 25 yards equates to a large difference at 100+ yards. Try to confirm your settings with a real 100 yd range. |
