Exactly what scope is on the "Campyclone"? Is the mount integrated into the scope like the Kobras, or is it sold separately? If separate, what mount is it? Are you pleased with its performance? Thanks!

"Exactly what scope is on the "Campyclone"?"

since 1999 i've run a novosibirsk built pso-1 with a 7.62x39 cam and fixed 4x magnification. mine is the hammertone grey finish and takes usa batteries.

"Is the mount integrated into the scope like the Kobras, or is it sold separately?"

the mount is integral and is the svd dragunov type. the newer style pso's are avaliable with the scope offset forward for better eye relief (i.e. pso-1-V)

"Are you pleased with its performance?"

yes, i am pleased with everything except eye relief.

hold on to your checkbook though! rs39 ordered a new belorussian elcan 3.5x scope for both himself and me.

i believe this scope will be a better rig. although more expensive ($200, as opposed to a pso series at $129-139), this scope offers a true 5.45 ballistic cam, better eye relief and a cool factor that is off the scale.

rs39 and i will post our reviews of this item some time in the next week or two.

standby.

Thanks, Bob. I'm looking to pick up two scopes next week for two of my AK variants. I'm getting a Kobra for the 7.62 and am undecided on the 5.45. Should I just get a Kobra for it as well, or try something else?

Give us a week to get it, another week to shoot with it then post. Bullet drop scale on the lower reticle, and about 60' claimed field of view at 100 yds. What good is magnification if you can't find your target? Should be more fun than a Trilux.

Please give me ordering info, as I may go ahead and order one before the results are posted. If you guys are this excited about it, it must be impressive enough to buy even before you guys torture test it.

I think I found what I was looking for. I viewed the properties of Campybob's posted photo, found the website it was hosted on, and took a look around.

Well, I've got one of those "bad boys" on the way for my 5.45 and an "improved" Kobra for my 7.62. It's going to be an early Christmas at my house.
