I tried one of those VERP AK47. It was unreal no recoil at all. I know it doesn't have the nice wood, but it is very accurate and loud.

what calibre?

VEPR 47, i would assume 7.62. But teh no recoil, very accurate and loud leads me to believe 5.45 or 5.56 with a brake.

I think the VEPR K is the only one that comes with a brake.

Yep that's the one and it was rogerdogers...I think it was a 223 cal. Either way I was impressed and it got me over to the AK side of the site.  Man if I had some extra money and didn't want to build a Dissipator and buy a AR50. It would be my next purchase.

I don't know much about AK's except from the 1970's and they were 1960 and I am sure 1950 models. I know people don't think the VERP is considered a real AK from what I hear.

I'm goingto try to make it out to the LI shoot on the 29th. If I make it I'll have my 7.62x39 VEPR II with me. You'll be welcome to shoot it if you're there.
