Did a forum search and came up empty.

What is recommended action when one gets light primer strikes?

Mak90. Wolf hollow point. 2 in ten rounds.  The same box of ammo ran fine in other rifles.

Make sure hammer spring is installed correctly
Replace hammer spring if it was installed correctly

Clean the bolt

Thank you.

The spring is installed correctly.  What are good places to buy replacement FCG springs?

Is there a specific length for firing pins?  Is there a good source to look up this length spec?

One frequently reads about AK's from different manufacturers having different sizing which can cause issues in fitting aftermarket parts.  Are firing pins and FCG springs one area where one size fits all?

I'd try an ALG Spring.

Some googling tells me firing pin protrusion should be 1.4mm-1.55mm.

Make sure that bolt is clean.

Also, make sure the gun is clean too, especially the chamber.

Check headspace first. Then change hammer spring.

Thanks strat81 and rwwlaw24 for your advice.

First I measured protrusion of the firing pin.  As best I could determine it seemed about 1mm, as opposed to 1.4-1.5.  However, I compared it to an Arsenal, which also has a spring loaded firing pin, and the protrusion when depressed seems the same.  That Arsenal had no light primer strikes with the Wolf ammo.

As to headspace or a dirty chamber.  I have not yet done this test. I assume what I would be looking for is a "no go" gauge that did in fact "go".  This would indicate a loose chamber that allowed the cartridge to sit too deep, hence the light firing pin strikes.  Am I thinking correctly here?

Wouldn't a dirty chamber have the cartridge sit too far back out of the chamber and not be a possible cause of light primer strikes, or am I misunderstanding?  In any case the rifle has been cleaned and lubed.

Note, I ran Monarch and Remington UMC ammo without ever a light primer strike.

Note also that this has been a relatively inaccurate rifle as described in my other post.  Any connection?  My further testing of accuracy with Wolf (after Monarch and UMC) resulted in this issue.  Light primer strike issues have distracted me away from accuracy issues.

To say I'm disappointed with this rifle is an understatement.

Thanks again for your assistance.
