I was changing out the rear sight leaf on my draco and the spring seems to be stuck down now bc when the new sight was installed (its def the correct sight... just a replacement romanian bc the slider wasn't locking up on the original), there is no tension on it so it just kinda flops around.  I am not super proficient when it comes to working on AKs but should I just go through the rear sight block and try to tap it up or is there something else that would be a better option?  Thanks

John

remove site, bend up the leaf spring, reinstall.

Sometimes the leaf gets bent when removing.

Just wanted to follow up... what happened is when i was pressing the sight leaf in, it dislodged the spring and pushed it forward kinda wedging it in the block.  I removed the spring and re-installed and it was fine.  I'm still trying to figure out the best way to push it down and slide the sight in... i can't figure out if it is a # of hands issue or if i'm just not getting the necessary force to depress the spring.  Maybe i am more confident in my ability than i should be but i feel like it has to be a technique issue.

there should be an indent in the spring. That indent has a mate in the rear sight block that keeps it in place.

It does and it goes back into it.  It was just kinda a fluke thing that happened as a result of me being kinda clueless.  Hopefully Ill be able to get it back up after work today.  I need to learn how to work on my AK... i've always depended on other people for the actual installs and stuff.  Its not a good way to be.

I understand .  That's why I got into converting saiga back when it was profitable to do so. I learned a lot that way. Lots of good people on this side of the board, plenty willing to help. Don't hold back any questions!
