I finally got to try my form one can on my trashcan rifle today.  It ejects cases into the next county and there is enough trigger slap that my finger was sore after 10 rounds.  It doesn't have either issue without the can.

Does anyone else share these experiences?

I haven't had any issues with the AKT on my pap with my F1 can. Also this is non related, but make sure your carrier isn't beating itself into the rear trunnion when the can is on.

What kind of rifle?  Most AKs are overgassed, some more so than others... a can will add to that.  It sounds like your rifle is now just so overgassed that it is causing the trigger slap from the carrier speed being way too fast.

I'd try a different FCG and see if there is any difference.

The rifle is a Romanian "G" parts kit build.  The rifle has a US made piston and ultimak gas tube, if it matters.

It would be sweet if there was a way to make the rifle work with and without the can.  I imagine a different recoil spring assembly with a stiffer spring for use with the silencer would be the cheapest and easiest.

Yeah a wolff extra power recoil spring would be a simple thing to check.  The rifle would probably function fine with that even when you aren't using the can.

What type of fire control group does it have installed?

I just cleaned the rifle and I'm 99% sure that I found and addressed the trigger slap issue.

When the trigger isn't held fully to the rear and the bolt cycled, the carrier runs into the side of the top of the hook on the trigger.

A few minutes with a file and it's got enough clearance.

Now I need to start looking at springs.

Take a close look at it, mine was hitting the bolt as well. I really think this is a design flaw in the ALG triggers. A simple bend/offset like the OEM triggers have would eliminate this issue.

When my AKT isn't held fully to the rear, it's not releasing the hammer.   Sounds like you have excessive overtravel.

It's probably from me not working the reset correctly, like letting off the trigger before the carrier is back in battery.

Either way, after my work with a file, it won't happen any more.

I would check to see if the disconnector is hitting the rear trigger guard rivet, which would limit it's travel.

I did notice that the disconnector had made a dent in the rear rivet on the trigger guard.  It wasn't doing that without the can on.  I wonder if that isn't part of the problem also.  I guess I'll find out next time I take it out.

I need to order a stronger recoil spring and a recoil buffer (because I cut the rear of the top rails a little too much and the bolt carrier hangs up every once in a while when charging it).  Is Wolff the go-to for a stronger spring?

I got to try it out after i filed on the hook a little, and there's no more trigger slap.

Thanks for the help!
