Well bought a wasr yesterday from buds, I've had Arsenals and wasn't to impressed completely for +$1000 gun. I have watched all of Rob skis videos and it seems that the newer wasr can hang with the best of the imported aks. Any thoughts?

I was thinking of getting one myself.

My first gun was a WASR 10/63, I ended up selling it in favor of an AR. (Just to be clear it was no fault of the gun) after I got better at shooting over the past few years I bought another WASR lightly used, and I'm loving it. I am capable of nailing a 12" diamond shaped steel target out at 300 meters from prone and the bench and I think that is all the AK system was ever meant to really do. I regret selling that other WASR. I also couldn't see forking over $1000+ for a Kalashnikov.

While not the bargain they once were, it is arguable that the WASR is one of the best values currently available in the AK market.

Solid AKM. Sometime in 2013 they updated machining and finishes that look better. Any year is GTG though.

I've happily been shooting my WASR for over a decade. Its an older one and has some trigger slap but that's an easy fix if I ever decide to.

The only thing that sets a WASR apart from an Arsenal is the finish.
It's an AK..
I have 6 Arsenals and 3 WASR'S.  There is no difference in reliability or accuracy.
