Gent's,
Thinking about adding an AK back to the stable after selling off a few. This looks like an interesting model...I know it's been out for 3 years. Therefore, for those of you who own or, have owned one - what are you thoughts? Price of admission out the door is right around $1,400.00. I seen a few reviews online, but, wanted to check with you guys as well for unbiased feedback. Thanks! ETA: Got it |
| They've been around for 12 years...more common in the last few. They're nice rifles, but the thumb safety is backwards and the butt plate is small enough that it gets uncomfortable during long shooting sessions. I'd look at a SLR-107 personally. Milled gets you nothing but more weight. |

I think the fixed stock SAM7 is more comfortable, part of me wishes that I would have gotten one but that 90 degree gas block being on a milled gun is what stopped me. I went with the SLR107FR and I'm pleased with it. |

Bought my SAM7SF about two months ago. Only my second AKM. With my limited experience with AKs I must say I am impressed with the SAM7SF. Outstandingly smooth action, excellent fit and finish. Heavier but that weight aids in taming recoil. After shooting over 1k of Wolf not one malfunction. The skeleton stocks small butt pad was a concern but proved to be fairly comfortable. The length of pull is longer than the SAM7R fixed stock which fits me much better. Mags lock in solidly. I purchased the SM-13 scope mount which too is again excellent in fit and finish. Locks in solid and looks great on the rifle. Planning on mounting a 1X6 scope to test out the rifles long range accuracy but have been pleased with 1-2 inch opened sighted groups at 50 yards. It was pricey but I said the same thing when I bought my beautiful 6 in. royal blue Python for $600 30 years ago. While the SAM7SF is no Python the quality is there and will hold its value.
