This looks very cool. Will probably be out of my current price range though

A polymer AKM? Remember the AR-180B?For what they probably want for it, what does it do better or than a Arsenal SAM7 at half the cost? It migh be for someone, but I'll pass. If you want an AR/SCAR/ACR/etc just buy one and be done with it. I don't get the fad of trying to turn everything into an AR15. ETA: If they really want to do something, why don't they make a true Alpha Clone ready to go right out of the box, optic/light/IR and all? Or why can't they domestically produce a copy of the AK12 or AN-94? I'm a buyer on these at the likely price of this new thing. |

Looks neat. I like it better than all the other "modernized" AKs that are just abortions with rails plastered all over a normal AK. This brings some good features, like the safety. This looks like an effort to actually improve the platform rather than just cover it with accessories.
Can't help but wonder if this is just a regular stamped receiver with a plastic shell around it. |

It appears to be a standard AKM type gas block and chopped FSB, so it probably is a stamped receiver hidden underneath. No idea who built/supplied it - it doesn't appear to be a result of K-USA's Saiga imports, as it does not have any obvious Saiga barrel components. |

Could be manufactured in Israel. |

Wow good catch. There was a guy leaving comments on the TTAG post who claimed to be the designer, and it did not seem like English was his first language. Read below to the comments from "M" - Alfa AK Designer http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/01/foghorn/new-from-kalashnikov-alfa-rifle-american-9mm-ak |

I like it, I guess.
Looks a bit like a Galil ACE to me. I like the side swapping charging handle, but it looks like the stock folds straight to the left to me. That means if you put the charging handle on the left you cant fold the stock? Im liking the Galil ACE over this one, I think. EDIT: Im sorry... for under $1,000? I suddenly like it a lot more. |

Looks like the handle may fit where the sling mounts are on the end of the stock. May have to have it fully collapsed to do so but that's not a deal breaker by any means Actually in the video, when fully collapsed, the stock comes up just short of the charging handle |

But yeah, looks like it sits right behind it... which makes operating it while folded impossible if you have the charging handle on the left side. Well, thats lame!

Since they're listing it at 3.5 kg, I assume they're advertising the whole rifle as "no gunsmithing required." Good to know that they don't just send you a bag of parts. |

That plus the reversible charging handle. I'm assuming the ''no gunsmithing req'' is referring to the numerous interchangeable parts it has. |
