So my brother in law picked up an ak at an insanely high price. It was covered in a poor spray paint job and no name plastic quad rail. Well feeling bad for him I cleaned it up as much as I could, however I'm not sure about the specs of it or even where it's from. I sent an email to high standard/ interarms with no response. It is a Interarms akm47sa, TAO47. Any ideas what this is? Any help would help.
Thanks!

AK's are running more than AR's these days.

Not sure the value of an interarms but most decent AK's are $750-$1300

Days of cheap imports are gone.

Yes good quality demands a quality price. I have a few of those aks. However this didn't have a chrome barrel, rear trunnion was crooked as well as the sight block.

Are you sure the barrel isn't chrome lined?  I can't remember anything that Interarms put out without a chrome lined Green Mountain barrel on it but maybe I am forgetting as they have put out a lot of AKs over the years.  Atlantic Firearms may be the best bet for info on it.  I think they carried and sold more Interarms stuff than any other retailer that I can remember.

Ok I'll ask them. I would assume it would be around 01-02. No side scope rail, no attn to detail almost looked thrown together quickly by someone that didn't know what they were doing
