So I was going through Youtube and saw this video regarding Tapco G2 triggers failing and causing the gun to go off without pulling the trigger.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LtWAyiQXB0

I went and looked at mine, and it has this Tapco G2 trigger in it. I know ARs pretty well and built a couple, but am somewhat of an AK n00b and only have the one. It's a Polish underfolder from Atlantic assembled by Allied Armament out of Oregon.

Anyway, should I be concerned? Should I replace the trigger pack asap? I've got maybe 700 rounds through this rifle and it's performed perfect thus far. I've not had any sort of reset issues and it appears to be the single hook design. The rifle's been perfect so far, but if it's a safety issue, it needs taken care of asap. I purchased the rifle 12/2012.

Thanks,

That guy is a troll clawing for views.

Tapco triggers are used in TONS of AK's in the US. If it was anything that happens "all the time" like they say, Tapco would be making recalls to save their butts.
Any mechanical part can fail. Nothing to worry about.

Only REAL issue tapco G2 triggers have ever had was a recall with the disconnector holes being drilled too deep. They took care of that.

Please explain to me why I shouldn't lock your dupe thread? I know you can't tell, but I'm asking nicely.

Haven't watched the vid, but if it's the Yeager vid... You need to keep in mind that he has become an unofficial spokesperson for Century. Coincidently, Century is releasing their OWN line of AKM fcg's (Red Army Standard, aka RAS).
As for Tapco G2, I use and like them. That being said, I did have one go "rogue" on me (doubles) due to an improperly heat treated disconnector (it mushroomed and deformed). All manufacturers put out defects once in a while.

Never had an issue with the G2, but then again I havnt bought a new set in a while, could just be luck of the draw with a  bad trigger for something that's mass produced?

Lock if you want, I didn't realize it was a dupe. Granted I didn't look too hard so that's my bad. Just saw that video and got a little freaked out.

I've experienced a couple of doubles while shooting my Saiga from the bench.

There is a good thread about the Yeager video at the AKFiles

Other Tapco thread slipped off page 1, so why not let this thread run.

*Note: INTRAFUSE G2 Trigger Groups are not compatible with the Saiga platform. INTRAFUSE G2 Trigger Groups are also not compatible with NoDak Spud NDS-3 and NDS-65 "economy" receivers. In some cases, the use of these two products together can create accidental double firing of the firearm.
