Looking for something to go with my SAR2, I want durability firstly then accuracy.  Not looking to collect, just a fun blazer that will help me exhaust a lot of surplus ammo. I have converted a saiga 12, so that is an option.  What models/suppliers should I look at?  Thanks for all the help!

I think it fair to say that any factory built an AK-74, or any one built by any reputable builder, will be durable.
Check out the 74's that Atlantic offers.
You offered no mention of your target price, so its hard to point you at one or two specific rifles.

Cost is of coarse a concern,500-600$ range would be a start. Sorry I missed that

After looking on the link, what are the short falls of converting the saiga? I'm going for practical not authentic.

I would get a saiga and convert it as cash allows. I think this is your best quality to $$ option.

Another vote for the saiga conversion. I think I have around $650 in mine, but do not have the barrel threaded. If you're going to be shooting a lot of corrosive it's one less thing to have to clean with no muzzle device and threads to worry about.

Since it seems that Saiga is starting to put rifles out again I would wait and see if they bring another run of the IZ-340 I picked mine up for about $440 2 years ago and it only cost the stock and trigger conversion.  I saw they went out of stock most places early last year.  If I couldnt find one of those I would look at the Waffen Works I know Classic arms has them in stock and so far they are getting good reviews and it fits your price range.

Have you looked at the Romanian M10 for $640?

ETA

I don't have one yet, but it's been highly recommended to me on ARFCOM.

Yeah, I saw that on the 2nd time reading through this thread.  Sorry, I'm dyslexic.

Your best bet is to keep a eye on this list. I say you should look at converting a Saiga since you've already done it.

A friendly word of advice.  DO NOT gamble on one of the new Waffen Werks ak-74s that Classic sells for $599.00.   Now if you can get one these with the NoDak Spud receiver, then fine.   Their new, home-rolled receivers are often/or sometimes out-of-spec.

However, with that said, the rest of the Waffen Werks rifles seem pretty nice to me.  I intend to get mine rebuilt on a new NoDak Spud receiver as I like the rest of the gun - just not the out-of-spec receiver.   If cost is an issue, I realize that this is NOT the cheapest alternative.
