I have a Mak 90 that is a sweet shooter but I hate the stock and wood handguards I'm considering doing something like this

( not my pic)
I already have the vltor extension and have used hogue grips on various firearms in the past with good results.
I'm thinking
Vltor extension
Magpul moe stock
Magpul cheek riser
Ultimak gas tube rail
Bushnell trs-25
Hogue PG
Crapco double hook FCG (fucking 922r
What should I use for a lower handgaurd? I don't need rails and it needs to be American made for compliance reasons

If you're getting the Hogue PG, you might as well get the Hogue PG and handguard combo; I love their over molded lower handguard. Its quite comfortable, plenty grippy, has heat shielding, and you can attach rails to it if you so choose.

Will the  hogue lower handgaurd mount without the upper one and be able to use an ultimak with it? can it stand up to sustained fire I melted the last polymer ones to the barrel.

I have an almost identical setup on my MAK
Using this lower handguard. Fits perfect with an ultimak.

Yes, because it mounts like any normal handguard, and no, it shouldn't melt because the parts of it that go into the handguard retainer are metal, not to mention it has metal heat shielding in it.
It won't melt under sustained fire; I fired 100 rds stopping only to change mags and you can't feel the heat through the handguard. The front trunnion area was pretty hot, and I know wooden handguards would've been hot and smoking at that point. If you're really worried about melting it, there are actually extra vent slots you can pop open to aid in cooling it/venting some heat.

Sounds good OP, only thing I would change is spend like another 20-25 bucks and get the Magpul CTR instead of the MOE, the extra options are worth it.
