Hello, I have an AK and am curious about the exact make/model. I believe it's a Yugo M70 with a milled receiver, but I'm not sure if that is correct. I can't find an import mark on it anywhere. Hope y'all can help.

Thanks,

Jake

yup. Wood isn't right. It may be a reweld too. Need more pics to know for sure.

Looks good from a distance but, that mag catch has issues.

Does appear like a reweld. I can almost see the partial serial number right there on the lightening cut. Can you post pictures of the internals, like the lower rails?

M70/64 on a ORF milled receiver from AWO. I built an underfolder on one. Check under the selector for possible mfg mark. Cant remember but I think there was something under the selector. Mine was Zastava marked as well.

That would have some pretty obvious markings on it

M64s have threaded barrels, they aren't pinned.

FSB obviously isn't from a M64.

M64 fixed stock rifles use tangs for the buttstock, unlike other Yugos.

The left side of the receiver on M64s is shaped very different than that of a milled M70 as well.

AWO bought the remaining ORF receivers when they went out of business. IIRC
Also what I meant was "someones build" on a Ohio Rapid Fire receiver they bought from Assault Weapons of Ohio not that AWO built the rifle.

Correct
Mine was an M64 rear ORF receiver M70 front because of the need for the press & pin barrel. I sold it I'll see if I have a pic on my PC
The bottom of the carrier is different more of a V shape like his pic, or did both the 64 and milled 70 have that style carrier
It was the build you comented on on the 5th page of the " my Yugoslavian underfolder " pic thread. I removed the pics from photobucket a while back.
I also agree the stock is incorrect.

Anyhow it looks like a build on an ORF receiver ie: wrong stock, M70 front end (because of the need for the press and pin barrel), selector is a milled M70 fixed stock selector, carrier looks like it has the V shaped bottom, but I dont know if that was only on the M64 or if it was used on the milled M70 as well. Again check under the selector for the ORF info.
All of it can be corrected, most important is the headspace and the fact that some of the ORF recievers were out of spec and had the barrel pin holes drilled too low raising the question of if there is enough meat between the barrel pin location and the chamber (yours looks good though). The trigger guard installation is God awful.
I dont know what they got for that build, but it should have been "LIFE without parole"

Milled M70 kit build. The receiver doesn't look like a reweld, as the edges of the lightening cuts would have a more pronounced flair, and the lightening cut would look a bit rougher and the serial number would be bigger. Probably an ORF or CNC Warrior receiver?

Whoever built it screwed up by omitting the selector stop plate, which should be present on a milled M70. That's why there's a hack-job to the mag catch. So, at the very least I'd account for sourcing a new mag catch, selector stop plate, and a new set of rivets to correct the deficiency.
