Posted with Permission of Lightning_P38. I'm helping a co-worker price/dispose of her deceased father's firearm's collection. I'm not an AK Guy, and I'm having trouble finding the value on this item. It's a Interarms 71 chambered in .223 with some kind of magnified optic that mounts via an attachment on the side of the rifle. Serial Number is in the 1519xx range. They also have the following magazines: 1-5 round 1-10 round 1-15 round 3-30 round 2-40 round 2 Drums I am trying to determine "fair market value" for the lot as a whole, I'm not trying to sell the rifle in this thread nor am I trying to sell the magazines.

I'm assuming it's a Valmet 71 imported by Interarms as opposed to something I am wholly unfamiliar with. The -71s aren't worth what the Valmet 76s are worth, sadly.
Here's a nice wood-stocked one that sold recently on Gunbroker And another And another While the 76 models go for $3,000+, the 71s sell for about half that. The Finnish magazines are very high quality, but I am unfamiliar with Finnish made drums. Perhaps someone else could help on that -- or maybe they are Chinese drums? Not a bad thing considering what .223 Chinese drums sell for. Pictures of the magazines would be helpful. |

Quoted:
Pretty sure these are Chinese drums due to a piece of paper in the bag. The Chinese drums are quite expensive in the current market. Those two drums, depending on capacity, may be worth half the value of the rifle. |
