Okay, so after like 4 years since I've owned this Polish AKMS parts kit. I am finally going to get this sent off and built.

So who are the preferred builders of AK rifles?

personally, I'd go to my hometown forum and see if anyone in my area had the tools to help. All else fails, you want a great build, I say try these:

not in any order

POHF (piece of history firearms)

Ted Marshall

ARS

InRange

and I think Chris Butler is done building, but he's at AK103

I agree with most of Nictra's list from what I've seen and heard. I was really impressed with POHF. Mario built my AKM and I absolutely love it! I highly recommend him.

I would add Mark at Arizona Response Systems (gumplumbr here) to the list.

Also, member Tim McBride does builds and NFA stuff at his shop. He built my AKS-74 clone.

If you want a polished hot blue finish on a well built rifle, the only choice is a guy that goes by 'shootshack; Heard about him here several years ago, 'small builder with very big results.

Matt is great to do biz with, though ive never had anything built by him. A little off the trail, but Henderson Defense built a romy g for me that is hands down my favorite AK... HDI
