I've got a SAW style grip right now, but its a bit large for me.

How does the MAKO grip compare? Better for smaller hands or not?

Any other suggestions?

I prefer something about the size of the Magpul MIAD grip.

I wear a medium size glove.  I've tried the standard/factory small military grip, Izhmash Molot, Bulgarian SAW, US Palm, and the Polish Tantal grip.

For my hand size, the Polish Tantal grip feels the best.  It looks just like a standard/factory polymer grip, but it is slightly wider and more hand-filling.

I'm rather fond of the Hogue AK grip myself.

The MFT  grips are great. Similar to the the MIAD and can be configuered to fit your hand. I personally use the MD Arms Molot grip. LOVE them.

I've got the Hogue AK grip on my Century Polish Underfolder AKMS and I highly recommend that grip.

I like the US Palm grip the best.  I've got great big hands though.  I've tried the stock russian & chinese grips, galil, SAW, ergo, the hogue and several AR grips with that crappy little plastic adapter that breaks if you look at it funny.

Does your hand sit too high with the MFT grip? I googled searched for awhile, and couldn't find any pictures of one installed on an actual AK lol. Hard to get an idea of where my hand will rest since it has very little lip on the back.

My vote is for Hogue also, really makes the gun "feel" right.

Also allows you to shoot one-handed!

I really like the us palm grip, and I have average sized hands. To be honest I didn't find the factory grip bad, but wanted something that filled the hand a bit better.  I like the water tight compartment as I keep nfa paperwork in it.

agreed.

OP, I'll check the parts box this weekend and see if I have a spare one lying about, I bought two and can't recall what I did with the 2nd one.

If I can find it, its yours.

I'm a fan of the Mako grip and have it on both my AK's. Alot of people swear by the US Palm grip. I don't have one on any of my AK's, but I do on my service M4 and I like it alot.

Does anyone have any experience with the ATI Scorpion grip?

I'm considering getting two of them for my Saiga conversions. I keep going back and forth between the Scorpion and the Hogue.

I've used a Hogue on my AR. I switched it for a MIAD with a spare bolt compartment. I know the Hogue is awesome, but the ATI looks promising.

Hogue is the way to go.

I'm currently testing out the Tapco SAW grip and I hate the angle.  The only pro would be the trap door storage compartment.

Right now I am running the Hogue grip on my SGL21 and the Ergo grip on my SLR106. Out of those 2 I prefer the Ergo.
I ordered a Polish AKM/Tantal grip from Ronin a few weeks ago which should be coming in this coming week. I like the standard AK grip angle, but it's just too thin. I am hoping that this grip is wide enough to be comfortable, if not then I am going to hunt down one of those fat Bulgy grips to try.

The dimensions of the Tantal grip are not drastically different from the standard.  I'd say the Tantal grip is only about 2mm wider, without having a caliper on hand to actually measure.

That 2mm makes all the different for my hand size though.  I'll likely never buy a different AK grip again.
