I want a basic, reliable, quality AK. I'm definitely want something that uses standard 30rd mags and in 7.62x39. I want to avoid the cheap stuff with problems. My purpose is plinking and just to be familiar with the platform.

Can be had for $430 and has original FEG receiver and cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel. No reason to spend a boat load of cash for a plinking gun imo. Of course, if you are inclined to spend more, then take a look at Arsenal or if you want something more custom then look at Kreb's or Rifle Dynamics. Also, AK-USA does good work if you want a kit build or something of that nature. |

Id say amd, then id swap it out with a nomal gas tube (hack saw one and flair it with a socket extension) and throw some wood on it.. be under 500 and be very nice... or a saiga and convert, be up near the 570 mark, better and has a real russian barrel (amd is G2G too tho) |
