I'm in the process of buying a post-ban SA 85M from a fellow forum member.

The gun has the ugly, I think, thumbhole stock on it. I'm planning on putting my

Polish Beryl sidefolder on it. In case I want to shoot w/the regular type stock,

where or what is my best bet for a replacment of the thumbhole jobbie?

Thanks a ton.

A Bulgarian buttstock will work.  I used one on mine.  You can get them from Apex Gun Parts or Copes Distributing, maybe.

Are all the SA 85M's a straight-cut receiver?

Yes, so basically any buttstock from a stamped AK would work. Since the Chinese receiver is thicker, their buttstock would be loose. In my case I found a Hungarian buttstock, & PG, on this forum, & the wood finish matched perfectly.  GARY
