I have been kicking around the idea of makeing leather/canvas padded sling pads for the RPK, PKM, & RPD's. I would like to get everyones opinion here on if you think there is a nough demand to make them?

I just did a quick search and found Russian RPK slings for $40.00.

I'd pay $40.00 for the real thing way before I paid $15.00 for something else, even if the other option was a superior product. If I buy a special sling for a gun, its because I want it to be correct. I'm not necessarily planning on bugging out with my RPK.

$40 RPK sling

I don't care about being correct, but I'm not into leather ether. I am going with a wide canvas sling like the IDF style.

Yep, thats it. It might not be stateside, but getting stuff imported straight from the Motherland is half the fun!

Anyway, you asked for thoughts. My thoughts are that I would want the real deal or nothing at all for guns that are "toys". Same thing I did with my Krink. I paid a premium for the correct drop case and sling, even though I could get a way better product for a lot less.

I would be interested in buying nice American made gear for my practical setups, but that doesn't apply to my RPK.

Mustang no worries I agree with you on some points like the krink, I am the very same way for my AMD-65 sbr, everything for it 100% period correct!
