Has anyone on the board installed a scope side rail mount? That is the side rail that mounts on the left side of the receiver that the scope mounting attaches to. I can't find anything on YouTube about it, nor on this board using the search feature.
It looks like you drill three holes, use three allen head screws & bolts to attach. Any special instructions? Any special concerns?

You can use screws or bolts, but rivets are much better.

Depending on the type of rail and rifle, one of the rear trunnion rivets hold the rear of the scope rail in place. The other two are lined up so the top of the rail is parallel with the top of the receiver.

This is a job you might not want to take up if you don't have experience.  There are no shortage of guys you can send your rifle to in order to have it installed properly.  It's a job you don't want to botch up because it's near impossible to fix.

Pretty simple operation if you use one of the screw on ones like:    http://www.collectorssourcedfw.com/mpk-2.html

Just measure 500x so you don't get it crooked Remember parallel to the top of the receiver I've done 4 in pretty horrible working conditions with hand tools only messed 1 up (shoulda' measured 501x), but it isn't noticeable unless you stare at it for a while and you have to be looking for it. Optics still work fine.

If you want a different pattern rail you'll need to remove a rear trunion rivet and rerivet. Remember AKM and AK74 rear trunions have a different rivet pattern and your rail will need to match.

Excellent quality, works great.

Doug Ford (Tantal) made and sold a ton of MPK2s before his daughter took over and started selling them.
