Front sight appears to still have a hollow, spring-loaded part inside, but the pin is missing.

I searched and read  a few "drive a nail in it" DIY's, but what's the right way to fix it?

Something like these. Obviously it depends on what FSB you have. There should be a pin that runs horizontally in the channel, you just punch it out, instal the spring and plunger pin, and reinstall it.

Thanks

Looks like I just drive out the front sight base pin, install the new plunger pin and spring and reinstall the sight base pin?

And it's a basic WASR, so would it be the K-Var part described as "classic rifle, AK-026B"?

Anyone have an extra?

suppose I could make one and notch it with the Dremel, but it's too damned hot in the garage today

and found the problem: front sight pin broken, so the detent pin got launched

thanks

You can make a new cross pin from a drill bil shank.
