| what is the best way to get reliable cycle with blank fire from semi ak's need em for my work, we use the crimp blanks with the brown bear on the box, or is there a certain blank adapter that works best? |

Blanks in any weapon are pretty temperamental. The key is to make sure the blank adapter is on nice and tight. Any leaks and reliability just goes to shit.
Its not like an AK muzzle brake where some wobble is normal, you want them basically fitted to the rifle so they have a tight fit. |

Ahhhhh.. hard to say. It's an easy answer for the M16 platform in the Army. But with AK's, there are so many different blank adapter designs and so many sources for ammo that its just impossible to tell. Different blanks could be loaded hotter than others, depending on the source and they would need a blank adapter with a larger hole in them. While weaker blanks would need a smaller hole in the blank adapter.
I'd experiment with different blank adapters and find what works with the blanks you have. |

Couldn't tell ya, never looked into it. Just remember seeing more than one type during the one exercise that had me running an AK with blanks in the Army.
One option is to take whatever type you have, and thread the hole in it. Get some set screws that will fit in the threaded hole. Center drill a handful of set screws with different size drill bits. This will give you an adjustable blank adapter that you can tweak to whatever blanks you have. You just change out the set screws until you find the size hole that gives the rifle enough backpressure to cycle the blanks. |
