I like it.  I've seen a few negative comments/reviews about the AKARS, but otherwise it looks good.

How do you like the AKARS? Where did you order it from aimsurp?

I like it alot. It works well and holds zero. Yep. Got it from AIM.

looks like a win..except for the promag.

I actually like the Promag. It has functioned flawlessly. I had my doubts as well, but have been impressed.

I think it's not a build. Other than that, it looks ok.

I like it.

Range report?

I think you got $790 worth of gear on a $350 gun, but I like it.

what's the length of pull with the stock fully collapsed?

How many coats did you use? And how long did u wait in between them?
About to refinish mine thus weekend

Looks badass BTW

Nicely done!

It looks good. I'd change out the mag though.

Def have more in gear than gun, but ain't that half the fun? I agree its not a build in the true sense. How about project? The Ace adapter works fine. Feels solid. As far as range report, it runs great. Zeroed the red dot at fifty yards. I have lots of other mags. All polymer though. Steel are too loose in the WASR magwell.

Used three coats. About 30min between coats. Cure for 2 days. Went on nice and smooth.

Now you just need to hit one of your mags with the alumahyde and you'll be all set!

how many rounds of ammo do you have on hand for it?
5/10/2012 11:42:37 PM EDT

Currently? Just shy of 500. What exactly does that have to do with the rifle?

I have a question about the MI rails. My wasr has the wood around the gas tube. If I get the MI rails do I need a new gas tube or does it come with its own?

never mind i you tubed it. looks like the wood comes off the gas tube

how does that buffer tube fit? Have you tried boiling it?

A reference to an idiot poster and his idiot posts. You're smarter for not getting the reference.

Nice stick btw. The question about ammo is probably to point you in the direction of shooting more and buying less gear.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. And I shoot as often as I can get to the range, not sure what makes the other guy think I don't. There has been probably about 1500  rounds through this rifle since I got it. Tinkering with my weapons is my hobby.

fuck I gotta start playing the lotto because I am clairvoyant for sure. This morning for what ever reason I was thinking about this thread and i was thinking...I bet that dude has 500 rounds of ammo and thats it.

and what does it have to do with the rifle? well kinda everything man. you spent $800 on accessories when you don't even have enough ammo on hand to make it through 2 carbine shoots or 1 day of training at a carbine class.

I had a member here a couple of years ago try out my arsenal (and i'm not snobbing on yer rifle I have a wasr also) and after ward he's like yeah I think i'm going to get an SGL31 and an Aimpoint!

and this is what I said to him "an Aimpoint is $500. for $500 you can buy 5k rounds of ammo. the rifle will work with out the aimpoint. it won't work without ammo"

I don't plan on taking a class with this rifle anyway. I own several ARs and have several thousand rounds of 5.56 that I train with. Just got an AK for something different. Basing my experience or training on a single question is rather short sighted. I bought 2000 when I got the weapon and have run about 1500 through it.

5.45 a couple of years ago was a hair over $100 per 1080 round tin for surplus. the sgl31 is a 5.45 rifle

Prices a couple of years ago doesn't help him now.  And his rifle is a WASR 10/63 that shoots 7.62.  So this doesn't help the OP at all....
