| I'm checking out my options for AK's in 7.63 x 39 and my #1 choice would be a vepr. I want to know what is required to convert it to a traditional AK configuration with an m4 style collapsible stock. I realize that the receiver has a slant cut and it would require the installation of a bullet guide( atleast I think it does based on mixed things I've read about the 7.62 x 39) if someone could hit me with some insight, preferably from first hand experience, that'd be uber helpful . Thx for the help. |

Before you go down this route, hold one first. I love my VEPR, but it is too damn heavy to hump all day. Accountant +1. I have a VEPR and love it. Very high quality rifle. But if the OP is looking for a rifle he could potentially train with, the VEPR is really heavy compared to most other AK's. For that reason alone, it wouldn't be my first choice for a working rifle. |

This is why I like my VEPR-K carbine with an ACE stock. Weights just about the same as a Romanian build with a solid stock. And you can modify the long hand-guard to make it even lighter. |

So I'm guessing this isn't possible? IIRC, at one time ACE made an adapter for the VEPR's slant cut receiver. I think it would accept one of their side folding stocks, but I don't know about a collapsible stock. See what you can find on ACE's website. Accountant PS: Thank you for your service! |
