Quick question for those of you who have been collecting and playing with AK rifles longer than I have…

Has the Tapco G2 trigger always included the axis pin guide tube?

I ask because I because I have a FCG here that looks every bit the same as a Tapco FCG, save that the axis pin holes are smaller (precluding the need for the guide tube), and it lacks Tapco’s logo.  I’m having camera issues (again), so I can’t post comparative pictures at the moment, but I’ll do so as soon as I can.  In the mean time, I’d like to hear any thoughts or theories on the matter.  Thanks in advance.

Could be one of the old Gordon Tech triggers from before Tapco's purchase of the rights to it?

Yes, I have one.  Don't remember what markings, and I'm not at home to check.

I thought that as well, but having never seen a GT trigger before, I couldn't say for certain.  I ended up trying some google-fu to find pictures, but came across only one.  By the looks of it, the Gordon Tech logo is raised, so it would be a simple matter to grind it off without otherwise affecting the FCG's dimensions.  However, I Googled "Bulgarian AK Trigger" as well, and found numerous pictures showing FCGs with the same GT/Tapco-style design, albeit full-auto versions.  So, I'm guessing this trigger I have here is Bulgarian, but with the full-auto bits removed.  I sure was hoping that this was an American FCG, though.  Would've saved me a few bucks on future 922r conversions.

Sounds that what you have is simple an Eastern-Bloc FCG set. A lot of guys sweat over 922(r) compliance and the FCG is the first thing they ditch.  Most Eastern-Bloc FCG's are billeted steel. Personally, I trust them over any aftermarket FCG, including the G2.
