order a saiga sporter (7.62)from jg sales in AZ for 315 shipped to my FFL.  looking around at conversion kits from carolinashooters, kvar, and danzig,  i got an idea for  everything i need except for the triggerguard/ grip nut thing.  do i need the triggerguard with the grip nut installed or just a trigger guard and a pistol grip nut?  i guess what im asking is of lately is the grip nut hole already cut into the receiver or do i have to cut one, and whats the perferred meathod?

thanks in advance

All the holes are already there. Usually (atleast from Carolina shooters) everything you need is included. My basic tapco conversion came with all the nuts and bolts included, and my '08 Saiga had all the right holes in all the right places. If you go with reusing the old trigger guard or order a guard which attaches up under the mag catch, you will need to drill a new hole underneath the mag catch.

if you need help, and in Chicagoland, let me know

depending on they year - early Saigas did not have a hole, lately all of them have it

I've converted 4 and always re-use the same trigger guard.  It's easy, and looks normal when finished.

Same here.  Just re-use the original trigger guard.
