Just a couple of quick questions for you guys that have some knowledge regarding SBR'ing AK pistols. I see a lot of SBR'd Draco and Mini's on here with the ACE folders etc and it's giving me the urge to buy one. From what I can tell the Dracos, if you can find them online, are going for $450-500, I found one on the shelf locally for considerably less than that and Im eyeballing it pretty hard. The biggest question I have is what is the estimated cost to SBR it, say with a triangle stock or ACE stock and including tax stamps, shop work etc. Just get a stock on it and be legal, I can add gadgets to it later. Thanks! |

1st you have to pay a $200 tax and wait about 5 months for approval from ATF,then about another $200-$230 to get an Ace stock, folding mechanism, G2 trigger assembly and installation. It will be a little cheaper if you DIY. End result is worth the wait and money! Quoted:

If the one you are looking at already has the underfolder rear trunnion then why not go that route. You can get the Romy underfolder stock on GunB or other sites. Then you could do it yourself if cost was a issue. Look at that local one again and go from there. Don't forget that you have to engrave you name on the gun somewhere since you will be the manufacture of the SBR. You can leave the trigger alone.
So figure price of gun. $200 for stamp. underfolder stock with trunnion $82.50 shipped. Any gunsmith charges if you need it. $30 to $50 for the engraving. You will be in the $800 range when all is said and done. |
