a legal import of VSS or AS Val rifles? Knowing they will only come on 1 shipment and that was it, forever. No more ever again. This is of course ammo being readily available.

Rifles in question

VSS

AS VAL

Would they have a real suppressor or just a barrel shroud?

With a real suppressor, it's going to be a 2 stamp gun because the barrel is only about 8 inches long

$1200 or so since I'll have to pay $400 in taxes.

well 9x39 ain't gonna be readily available. If it were, and dies and brass were also widely available, then maybe 1000-1500.

maybe .35 rem instead

If it was actually the real deal with real suppressor and full auto registered all original (Never going to happen), then $20,000.  If not full auto, $5k maybe?  That gun is amazing.  Always have loved them.  Can't they cut them up into parts kits and us make US receivers over here and replacement suppressors?  Obviously the full auto parts could never happen though, but the rest of the gun.

These weren't issued in large numbers, so I doubt any have been sold as surplus.  So no kits.  (same deal with SVD parts kits that people ask about all the time) Dunno if anyone would bother making a receiver for a rifle that there is no ammo available for anyway.  Sucks because it's a cool little rifle.

Read thru this to find out why they can't just sell us whatever gun we want.  Basically, if it's not on this list, the Russian government agreed to not export it to the US.  http://tcc.export.gov/Trade_Agreements/All_Trade_Agreements/exp_005371.asp

We are basically limited to Saigas and VEPRs for Russian factory made firearms that most of us would actually want.
