I've got a Norinco 84S underfolder.  The way state law is interpreted, the gun is too short when folded and meets the state definition of a short-barreled rifle (even though it is not a federal SBR).

I don't really want to permanently turn it into a fixed-stock rifle.  But if the Slidefire stock will attach and be non-permanent, I might consider trying that out.  Yes, it would be ugly with the underfolder hanging there. But it would give me an excuse to get one of those stocks, and would give me a "fixed" stock to satisfy the state.

It would beat storing the gun out of state like I'm doing now.

Anyone know for sure one way or the other?

They only work on a fixed stock AK.

Thanks for the response.  Does it not work because the slider would hit the underfolder mechanism?  I wonder if it could be modified.

Does anyone have a picture showing the details of how the stock mounts to the gun?

Register it as a pistol? Put a 74 style brake on it?

It's well under 26" when folded.  I tried a 74 brake, and it brought it up to 25.25"

eta: I just had a brain fart, though. I've got a thread adapter so I can shoot the gun suppressed.  The adapter isn't long enough either.  However, I could always have another made that was long enough, and pin it to the barrel.  Might be something to think about...

I'll have a while to think anyway, since the gun is stored 1600 miles away.

Military Arms Channel did a review of it on youtube that showed how it attached.  There is also a link to it on this forum on a post by FAC

Basically, part of the stock attaches like a regular fixed stock.  Since there are no tangs or even a hole in the back of the underfolder trunion, this isn't possible to install on an underfolder.

If a longer muzzle brake would work to extend the rifle, look into a Tantal brake.  I'm pretty sure they use 14mm threads and are longer than a 74 brake.
