| Anyone use on of them 3pc muzzle breaks for the AK47, do they really make the gun quieter? |
|
It does seem to have some muzzle brake properties but I think it is due mostly to its heavy weight. These boosters are close to half a pound. On my Krink it is definitely not a flash supressor. It directs the flash foward but does not hide it. It is really just a booster to get SBRs to run correctly. I would not use it for anything else. In fact I dont even use it on my Krink as it works fine without it.
Seems like there is a lot of misinformation on these. Some sellers in the past were even stating these were "tuneable". There is no magical function to these boosters. On an AK I would go with something else. There are now a lot of other better lighter choices if you want a brake or flash hider or combination of the two. |

Thanks for the info guys, been reading on the got AK-103 booster seem like a good one. Them dam slant ones that come from the factory very LOUD. Make sure your using hearing protection, guns are loud. No muzzle brake will make your gun any less noisy. |

I use David Gentry brakes on my 338-378 and is a lot quieter than the factory Weatherby Accubrake.

BTW, it's not three pieces... it's actually four. Main body, retaining wire, knurled ring and internal blast cone(which is matte chromed). Yeah it's pedantic and anal, but I like to be precise about what things are called. Shoot me. -urban Deal How exactly are you planning on doing that? Point your finger at my thread post on your monitor screen, make "pew-pew" noises with your pie hole and then think bad thoughts at me? Bwhahahaha. It's all in good fun Steve, hey man, what are you doing? There's no reason to get angr..."THWACK"(urban slumps over, after an imaginary bullet flies out of his monitor) -urban's sad friend |

Some breaks AKA brake are quieter than others, some say the 3pc are a bit quieter than many others, that is why I ask about the 3pc. If I wanted a suppressor for it I would be in the NFA forum. who makes quieter brakes for ak ? thanks J brake. Google it. Directs noise forward away from shooter and people standing next to shooter. |

You're right, but the way you asked your original question made it sound like you wanted a suppressor. Some brakes are quieter than others, but they are all louder than no brake at all. So none of them "make the gun quieter." |

I should of been more precise of what I saying, I thought saying the 3pc brake for the AK.would of done it. I may try a Gentry brake on the AK. |
