Someone more knowledgeable than me might have a better answer, but I don't think there is such a thing as a pre-ban 74, save for the very few (perhaps under a dozen?) Chinese 5.45 rifles that were imported way back when. Those are incredibly rare. So rare, I've never encountered anyone on the Internet who claims to have actually seen one. I think the earliest imported 5.45 rifle more readily available was the Romanian CUR-2, imported sometime in the mid to late 90's. (1997, I think?) |

(all but something like 6 Chinese AK74's were imported or built after the ban) |
