My underfolder locks up tight at the moment.  I know it will eventually loosen with age, shooting, etc.  But my questions is––-is it best to keep the underfolder extended when I'm not shooting the weapon or fold it up for storage?  I'm assuming if you continually open and extend the underfolder, it will loosen, and, storing it in the extended position doesn't loosen it over time. Or, it doesn't really matter, it will loosen up no matter what I do?   Please let me know your thoughts.

they all loosen and develop side to side wobble over time.

Fortunately they are designed so that you can just turn a nut in the mechanism in the back of the receiver to tighten it. I havent done it but i have owned one and seen the instructions on here.

Basically you pull one pin and turn a new a little and put the pin back and you're done. Somebody will be on here in a few minutes to give you the details.

Doesn't matter , just keep a little oil on the 2 pivots.
And yes , push the button in and you will see the adj nut on the other side. round with holes and a pin in it.

Can someone explain this process to me in really easy idiot-speak? My father's underfolder is getting kind of loose. I'll tighten it up as a small part of his Christmas gift.

About 3:50 is the nut you screw on and adjust.
