Does anyone have experience with the work Rifle Dynamicsdoes on AKs?

I read an article last night in one of the gun rags about the upgrades they did to a WASR 10. It looked like a slick gun with some funcitonal upgrades.
I would like to hear some comments about the Bolton gas block upgrade, lighting bolt left side charging handle, and their optics mount built into the quad rail(specifically interested in a aimpoint T-1).

Also, any reason not to cut the barrel on an AK to 14.5" and pin an FSC47 brake?

I don't have any personal experience from them, but they are quote popular on another AK site I frequent... They are also highly regarded by anyone I've ever heard who has dealt with them.

Take that for what it's worth...

You'd be making an already short sight radius even shorter.

with the intent of always using a T-1 micro, I would think the handiness would pay off.

i had them do a build for me. came out real nice. if i want to nitpick there was one rivet that wasnt shaped perfectly but other then that it looks flawless. havent got a chance to run it yet. so i cant speak on the reliability but they are suppose to be one of the best. i cant help you with the rifle dyanmic mods since i only had the rear sight mod done.

They do great work but be prepared to wait six months or lonnger. I would also double the amount of time they quote for delivery as they are very backed up.

As long as you retained the fsb, sure. I'd rather move the fsb against the fgb and pin on a 74 brake like krebs does with the 103k model.

Never abandon irons

You're going to find the same situation at all the really well known builders.  Thousands and thousands of AK kits and rifles out there to be built or worked on, but only a handful of really solid builders in the country.  I've waitied 6 months for an MP5 kit build, currently waiting at least 4 months for an AK build.  Thats just how it goes.

im not at all afraid of a long wait. Actually, a long wait gives me a false sense of waiting for something even more awesome than if it was a 3 week turnaround. Kinda like class 3 stuff.

Jim Fuller is THE man for Ak's. There's a reason the wait list is so long. Take a look over at Haley Strategic and see who he prefers for his AK work.

I had him build my AKS-74U and it's the most beautiful AK I have in my collection.

I had a mint Romy G kit I had him build on a Nodak economy receiver.  Nothing special before I sent it, but it was when it returned.

The bad part was the 9 month wait time.  I understand from his website that they have some options to speed up delivery.

Jim's shop is local for me, I stopped in for some questions about a future Tula build. He took almost an hour to personally answer all my questions and show me around his shop. Very approachable guy and down to earth. I would not mind waitin 6-9 months for one of his builds. He occasionally does armorers classes focused more on building than simple parts replacement.

did a Romy G kit build for me a couple of years ago and it took 13 months, I would not throw something on that pile again...

Any other places that offer a wasr clean up like him? I've owned jim's work, and it's amazing work, but I'm not waiting 9-12 mo. (friend was told his rifle woykd be done in 4 wks 8 wks ago with no new time line).
