I would like to change my black US made polymer furniture on my Arsenal SAS M7, can anyone tell me what kind of wood furniture would be compatible?

It's on a U.S milled receiver.

I'm new to AK type rifles so I'm pretty clueless. There's just too many variants of furniture to choose from for AKMs.

Thanks!

Any handguard set from a milled AK will fit.  Any pistol grip will fit.  Handguards from a stamped AK will fit but will require a good bit of trimming on the part that goes into the receiver.

Ironwood Designs has nice wood sets for milled Bulgarian AK's.

Thanks guys! I went with a company that sold surplus Bulgarian Bakelite furniture.

Can't wait to get it on my AK!

OP, your new to AK's and you have a Arsenal SASM7.

I have the same rifle and in case you don't know, you have one of the best AK's out there...good job.

And post some pics when you can.

Yup! This is my first AK I have ever owned.

I will post pictures as soon as I get the furniture on.

I have to agree, I've shot a few AKs in the past but this one is hands down my favorite. I've even started favoring this over my 14.5'' middy AR.

Anything I point at the POI is exactly where I wanted, I've even learned to shoot only using my FSB. This rifle feeds any and all ammo I feed it with ZERO hiccups.

Only thing I was not impressed with was the black finish on the rifle on most of the parts. It looked nice out the box, but after cleaning my SAS M-7 with some CLP solvent, it ate the finish off.
So I sanded away a lot of the finish to give it that "beat it to hell" appearance. With the Bakelite furniture and steel 30rd mags I ordered the rifle should look like I picked it off a dead Taliban.
