I spoke to them today, they are replacing that mount with a new version.
You will likely find out why.

I am interested in the Sparc, but I would like to hear from everyone just how the battery life is. I have a Primary Arms red dot and it will only last about 3-4 days if I leave it on, is the Sparc any better?

This post (at another forum) discusses a problem with this mount:

I hope they can fix it. It would be a great solution if they can get it to work.

Please let us know what's up with mount ? to keep us from buying an older version in the future

edit- Followed the forum above... Seems they would have addressed these issues before ever being sold to public... As in several thousand rounds being fired and stability of mount tested and retested...

It needs a re- design.it looks like The micro  red dot sight is heavy enough to cause the mount to flop around during firing. I am surprised they did not test for this. These kinds of mounts need a way to securely lock it down. Larue used a strong magnet. Not the best solution but it worked. Samson uses a locking tab which fits under the leaf spring mount and prevents zero movement.

I wish they moved the optic mount back another 1/4 or more to allow the optic covers to installed when not in use or even the kill flash

Just spoke to Troy and he has some of the best customer service in the industry, he sending out the new style mount after they get coated in about 2 weeks.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new style. I've got a micro for my 74 that I have been running with there quad rail, but I would rather have something like this. I hate the looks of the rail and I hate that i can't keep my cleaning rod in the gun.

The micro mount is cool.  But I'm hoping they make a M3/ML3 mount too!

I went ahead and installed my MI quad rail again, but if the new design works I will be selling it to get this mount.
