I was just browsing Apex's website and I saw they got a batch of RPK parts kits in.  Even though it doesnt have the barrel its still a pretty nice kit.  Just thought I would give you guys a heads up!

Here is a link to a barrel supplier:

RPK Barrels

I believe these barrels are for the Romanian style RPK, however I believe a little machining is required before they can be operational.

Plus side to these barrels is that they have a chrome chamber/bore which is kinda rare on US made stuff.

I read somewhere that those rpk barrels were way off in the RPK specs.  It was on another forum if I'm not mistaken.  Either or I was reading just a little lathe work on a Yugo barrel and it works.  Decisions decisions.

There was an abundant supply of virgin Yugo barrels but they require the yugo gas block/trunnion in order to work correctly (sure you can run it through a lathe, but it would probably be more trouble than it is worth) and centerfire sells used ones.

I know of a couple of people who have used the barrel I listed with no ill fitting. So it may have been the first run of those types of barrels or perhaps even the Virgin Romanian RPK barrels that were Snafu.

Also a little barrel information:

Based upon green mountain's barrel specs these barrels were designed around the Romanian RPK's specs so they should work just fine.
