Has anyone had to modify the center support in the WASR 3 that shoots .223 to take bulgarian double circle 10 mags?  I would rather modify the gun than all of the magazines.  If i file some of the center support would it really effect the gun?  I know its just there for support but I figured if I filed some of it down so the mags would fit it would be fine.

I have a PDF of how to modify them.  PM me your email address if you want it.

It requires a little skill with the right tools, but it is possible.  If you can get a tool in there at the right angle you can shave about a millimeter off the support and the magazine should clear it.  It is not a great deal of material so I doubt you would lose any structural integrity.  I gave up on mod'ing the rifle due to the difficulty I had trying to shave the portion of the support that needs to be modified.  If you have a good dremmel, which I don't , I'd give it a try.  The tools I have on hand aren't ideal for the task.  It only takes about 10 minutes to mod the magazine so that's the route I went.

Any other input? Just kinda getting a feel for it before I attempt removing some metal from the center support.

I have the higher end Dremel and the extension kit.  My friend is a good gunsmith and I may have him take a crack at it.

I appreciated the PDF and its great info but I'm looking to modify the gun itself so it can take all mags ya know?  I have seen some center supports flattened on front near the mag well for this same reason is what I am guessing.  I don't see why just removing some metal from it would cause a catostrophic failure at any point during the guns life.  Not unless it may and I am just wrong.
