So, I want a shorter AK. I already have an SGL21. I'm really thinking of going with a draco pistol, but I see the Polish underfolders from century have a good rep and are reasonably priced.

My main reason for thinking of a draco is cheapness and possibly going the SBR route and modding it. The underfolder is probably better for collector reasons, but I already have a bunch of "don't modify" weapons due to their collector value.

What say you?

Thanks!

I really don't think you will have any collector value in the century underfolder polish or not. Either one will be a great weapon to mod to your liking and other than SBR the draco most mods are temp and can be changed back stocks, brakes, triggers, rail, red dots, slings.
Pick your flavor and savor every shot of it!

Probably true. But remember that is EXACTLY what they thought about the Chinese AK's in the 80's. They were everywhere and so cheap, they could never be "worth" anything.

Collector value on alot of stuff I have depends on the climate in the political theater.  Remember November 2008?

The Polish AK's look nice.  Does anyone know if Century is doing these themselves, or hiring the work out?  My Century Yugos were put together by another company and they are excellent.

I also have a Century imported Draco that is Romanian built.  My first one must have been constructed in Romania on a Monday.  They had to be hangover drunk to have put the gas block on that crooked.  Sent it back to Classic and the one they replaced it with was perfect.

The Chinese AK's that were imported in large quantities (MAK-90) sell for around $500.  That means their prices have only kept up with inflation.

The Chinese AK's that are actually worth something these days are mostly pre-bans, whose importation numbers were significantly less than the MAK-90's.

Century AK's are no Chinese AK's.

For real.  Century AKs are mix-masters when it comes to parts and I find it hard to believe they will ever have any collector value.  They can make very good shooters (especially the Yugos), but that's about it IMO.

I think in biuld qaulity the draco will win hands down. In time a draco will more than likley be used by some wangsta in a shooting and get banned at some point. So If I was in the market for either I would sway towards the draco for these reasons. I agree though it is hard to say what will happen in value to any of the new weapons in our current market as demand dictates the value. Look at saiga 12 shotguns I sure wish I would have got one when the were under 400.00 dollars unconverted. Good luck on your choiceand enjoy it.

Thanks for all the suggestions/comments.

I ordered a Draco today. Maybe I'll grab a Polish underfolder later, but with the current lack of real estate in my safe, I may have a hard time finding a place to put it. The Draco will fit pretty easy.

Ordered a Krink muzzle brake and a sling.  I'll most likely re-finish the hand guard and maybe polish the bolt. Should be a fun little toy.
