So, I ordered a cleaning kit (Because the rifle doesn't come with one), and I also ordered a rod too.
Well, just now, I go to screw on the bore brush to the end of the rod and it's not threading, and neither are any of the other tools contained in the kit. Wtf? The rod on the receipt and from the website says it's for a 5.45 rifle, and the cleaning kit likewise is also stated as being for a 5.45 rifle. Am I missing something? I guess I can always run to the gun store and pick up a 5.56 cleaning kit, that should work in a 5.45 rifle, no? |

I had a similar deal with my issued cleaning kits for my M16. Nothing they gave me threaded into my personal stuff and vice versa. I guess despite the same caliber, not everything is made with the same threads.
On that note, i use 5.56 cleaning gear for my 5.45's. Works just fine. The bore brush will be a little tighter but it should be good to go |
