[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Underfolders

School me on them. Tell me about the Polish AKMS, Century WASR10 UF's, Vector UF's, M70s etc etc. I did a search and nothing really helped. Im not looking for a pricey AK right now so Arsenal is out of the question and so is Yugo Krinks. I already have a krink anyway.

Pro's/Con's, comparisons, finishes, function, etc etc

Anything will help. Thanks

1. Cheek weld: crappy.
2. Ease of use: poor.
3. Rigidity: poor.
4. Compactness: fantastic.

Add in cool factor: extreme.

I have a 1972 Polish AKMS kit-build on a Ewbanks...it is a fantastic rifle.

That was about my expereince, though I'd add:
5) Shoulder comfortability: poor.

Though they do look awesome. My first AK was a Polish Underfolder, very nice rifle. Can't beat the AK100 style folders IMO.

I was trying to be funny.

I like the "cleanliness" of the UF configuration more than a side-folder, but the side folder is more comfortable.

Of my three underfolders, my Polish is easily the nicest. All of them run well, but the Polish is dead sexy.

I have a question. Why do some UFers, when stock extended, go straight out but some are on a small downward angle as if it wont open all the way? I never messed with the mechanism before so idk if there are different positions or something
